Modelling on thermal‐fluid field in SF <sub>6</sub> insulated high voltage direct current bushing with its influence on electric field distribution and metal particle motion

The insulation performance of SF6 insulated high voltage direct current apparatus are often analysed in a pure electric field or electro-thermal coupled while the fluid behaviour gas flow is ignored. However, frequent flashover along support insulators inside wall bushing indicates that characteristics may have considerable influence on interior bushing. This paper has simulated thermo-fluid based finite element method model. result shows buoyant evident temperature distribution On this basis, effect insulator as well motion metallic particles analysed. Furthermore, different thermal boundary conditions analysis multi-physics discussed and most suitable one for simulation experiment suggested. Comparisons made between supporting structures modification advices proposed. can serve good reference subsequent research studies which gradient micro-sized shall be considered.
